Date: 11 August 2006. Distance and route: 3 miles roundtrip (length of lake: 1.5 miles). Water Temperature: Chilly, but comfortable. Time: 1 hour 44 minutes. Swimmer: John Forasté. Kayaker: Diane Forasté.
This was more or less a spur of the moment event. My wife, Diane, and I were enjoying a few summer days with friends on this beautiful Vermont lake. The lake beckoned as I suspected it would. Lounging on the shore at one end, I couldn't not imagine swimming its length - and return. So, Diane and I headed off. It was nice swimming in fresh water and having Diane kayaking.
