PILATES METHOD
Pilates "pi-LAH-teez" is a holistic form of physical health which integrates the mind and body. This unique approach works to increase strength of the deep muscles which support the spine and peripheral joints while reducing tension and gaining flexibility.
Joseph Pilates called his method "Contrology" for the concentration of the mind and the deliberate control of the breath and muscles. Pilates requires an intense focus on the breath, muscle connections, and precise form so that the mind is drawn away from the world around, providing a meditative release of life stressors to a journey within.
